Who We Are, and How to Check

Yi Xie & Co. is a law firm registered with the Malaysian Bar. Chua Yi Xie is an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya, admitted 1 November 2019.

You do not have to take our word for any of that. The Bar's directory is a search form rather than a page we can link you straight to, so open it, choose Lawyer and search Chua Yi Xie, or choose Firm and search Yi Xie & Co.

We Cannot Guarantee an Outcome, and Neither Can Anyone Else

No lawyer can stop your employee from filing a claim. Any employee may file, the Industrial Court and the Labour Department cost them nothing to approach, and there is no piece of paperwork in existence that prevents a filing.

What the work does is different. It puts you on defensible ground when a claim comes, so that the documents in front of the Chairman are the ones you would have chosen to be there.

Anyone who tells you they can guarantee you will never be taken to the Industrial Court is either misunderstanding the question or selling you something.

Malaysian Law Only

Everything on this site is about Malaysian employment law. We do not advise on employment law in any other country, and that includes situations where a foreign parent company is involved. If your group headquarters is elsewhere, the handbook that works there is very often unenforceable here, which is a large part of why that work exists.

Links to Other Sites

Where we link to the Bar's directory, to a statute, to a published Industrial Court award or to anything else outside this site, we do not control that page and we are not responsible for what is on it. Links are given because they are useful and checkable, not as an endorsement.

How Current Any of This Is

Articles carry a last-updated date. Employment law in Malaysia has moved significantly in recent years, including the amendments that came into force in 2023. Anything written before the most recent amendment should be read with that in mind, and if a date matters to a decision you are about to make, ask us rather than assuming.
